Hi!
Never have I ever…
… entered for a sponsored walk.
So here I am, I’ve just enrolled in the March for Men charity walk at Battersea Park in June. I have no idea what to expect, but whatever happens I know it’ll be my way of celebrating the end of treatment for my friend, Steve, 54 years old, with a 5 year old son, and is desperate to see him grow up.
Only out of curiosity, he had the blood test taken. So by chance they found he had prostate cancer. I would urge anyone from 50 and above to have the test on a regular basis.
We were both in shock at the news, and he was supposed to have had treatment in January/February, and that’s why I moved in to support him. Unfortunately, it was delayed, and he starts both treatment AND a new job tomorrow.
I can’t spend extended time with him again, and I feel guilty as hell, so I guess this sponsored walk is my way of showing him support. I have set a target of £1,000 to raise for Prostate Cancer UK. If you feel you could support me in this, could you donate via the QR code below. I’ll in turn give you the link to my JustGiving fundraising page.
Thank you in advance
Cheers, Hannah xx
